UNLTD is a junior-only training academy, working with tennis players 7-17 years old. The Academy is home to all ability levels, from beginners learning on an orange ball to D1 college athletes training for the NCAA Tournament. Through a unique blend of private training, group-repetition training, and off- court fitness we help our players reach their next level. Each player in the Academy has their Coach- Manager that oversees their year-long training plan. The plan varies in frequency and intensity throughout the year so players peak at the most opportune time to accomplish their goals.

Tennis Pathway

The UNLTD training platform focuses on the entire player, body, mind, and athlete. The Academy has created this proprietary pathway to educate and challenge each player throughout the various stages of their development. The pathway engages all ability levels, from beginners on the orange ball to D1 NCAA athletes. Each stage of the pathway has a set of criteria that players will master in order to pass to the next level. This criteria is measured in progress reports that players receive each trimester. The pathway enables players to train with peers that push them for optimum development, while developing a social group that promotes the joy of the game.

Tennis Cycle Training

Training tennis players has changed over the last decade. Training for multiple hours at high intensity all year round, no longer works. That's why at UNLTD we employ cycle training. With cycle training, the number of hours, days of the week, and intensity of training fluctuates throughout the year in order to optimize performance and prevent injury. At UNLTD we have two types of cycle training. Varsity Cycle Training amps up the training pre-season but throttles it down during the varsity tennis season. We also utilize Multi-Sport Cycle Training for our athletes that play more than one sport. With Multiple-Sport Cycle Training players are at UNLTD only once a week during the peak season of their second sport, to maintain skill set and timing.

Schedule Background

Tennis Scheduling

At UNLTD each player works with their Coach- Manager, and our dedicated Scheduler, to create a custom schedule for all of their programming. This schedule is created after acceptance into the Academy, and locked in for the entire trimester. Once established, the entire schedule is available on the UNTLD Mind-Body app. The app will send reminders to players and parents for upcoming sessions, as well as show the amount of used and upcoming inventory. This schedule helps players to be better prepared for sessions and creates more predictable efficiency in player households.

Tennis Admissions

In order to be admitted to UNLTD Academy, all players go through an assessment and free trail process. The assessment is a friendly and interactive session with Jarrod Grant (Chief Instruction Officer) and Isaac Jones (Chief Fitness Officer). The assessment consists of a tour of the facility, a tennis workout, and fitness workout. The parent will be given a written report detailing the player's strengths and opportunites. Over the next two weeks, the player will be granted free-trials for an individual lesson, group session, and fitness session. Following the trials, a player and parent will be given their performance plan for the year. If this plan is accepted, admission is granted.

Tennis Reporting

Each trimester the UNLTD Coach-Manager will create a progress report marking the advancement of the player. The progress report grades stroke production, footwork, point construction, mental approach, and attitude. Throughout the trimester the Coach-Manager will also record multiple sessions via the Swing Vision app. The Swing Vision app will record the entire session on video while also providing data on shot placement, mph, spin rate, distance traveled, serve percentage and more. Studies show that more than 65% of people are visual learners. The ability to provide instant feedback, evaluate improvement periodically, and even prevent injuries are all attainable through video analysis. By recording videos regularly, coaches build a video library that helps to show players improvements.

Recruiting Background

Tennis Recruiting

Successfully graduating UNLTD can take many different forms. Some of our players choose to continue their tennis career on the collegiate level. For these players, the Academy has created the UNLTD College Pathway Program. This program works with parent and player to help determine the correct adacedmic fit, social fit, financial fit, and athletic fit for the player. A target list of schools and coaches are developed. A suite of recruitment materials are created for outreach to schools including athletic resumes, stroke production videos, UTR match videos and more. Players are prepped for playing showcases, coach interviews and on-site visits. In this program, ULNTD helps to mangange and coordinate the athletic and academic outreach and recruitment of the player.
